"I read an article about how tae-kwon-do can help children gain confidence, self-esteem, respect, self discipline and actually enjoy it! I visited a few of the schools in Irvine, but was most impressed by this ATA school and the chief instructor Mr. JP Do. He taught my very active, and at times, very unruly son to become very confident, gain respect for himself and his peers and also enjoy the discipline! He can now focus, concentrate, and be more self-controlled, which has done wonders for his school grades. He is also now a much fitter young man. "My son had been diagnosed with ADHD. After speaking to the pediatrician about not wanting to resort to medication, she recommended that I try taking him to Tae kwon do. She recommended the ATA in Irvine and so I enrolled him there. He has improved immensely, has so much more self-control, confidence and improved grades. "Due to my husband’s job, we had to relocate to Irvine CA. My two children were very unhappy at leaving their school, friends, and old home. Both became quite shy and withdrawn, and were having a hard time adjusting at their new school. One of the mother’s suggested that I took them to taekwondo and recommended Mr. JP Do’s school. She said that Mr. JP and his staff had worked “magic” (her words) on her two children. I would have never thought about taekwondo, and wasn’t sure that my daughter especially, would like it.
